How to Get a Google PageSpeed Insights API Key?

1. Go to Google Cloud Console and ensure you are signed in.
2. Create a Project: Click Select a project at the top left, choose New Project, name it, and hit Create.
3. Enable the PageSpeed API:
   • Open the left menu sidebar and go to APIs & Services > Library.
   • Search for “PageSpeed Insights API”.
   • Click on it and press Enable.
4. Copy the generated text string (it usually starts with AIzaSy)

To prevent others from stealing your quota, restrict your key right after creating it:

• Click Edit API Key (or the pencil icon next to your key).
• Scroll down to API restrictions and check Restrict key.
